Gothic architecture? In some of my research the Gothic period wasn't very appreciated because they took the greek and roman architecture and completely destroyed it. Is this true? What is with the Gothic Architecture? It's hard to get this cleared up because every research site says something different.

Why were people afraid to use Gothic Architecture? Why were people afraid to use Gothic Architecture, hundreds of years ago? As in why did not so many people use it (that could have) and why were they reluctant when building using this style? Like..Was it dangerous, expensive difficult, etc?

Unique ideas and styles for gothic art and architecture? For my art course i'm studying gothic architecture particularly churches. I need creative ideas when presentating my work such as paper mache and collages. I prefer media such as paint, inks and using black biros and my work is very loose and messy. Help! I want to do my paper on Gothic Architecture, but I need to get specific!? The paper has to be 10 pages (double spaced) so it has to be a topic with a lot of info. I also need 5 sources (non-internet preferred). I really want to do it on Gothic Architecture, but I need to be more specific. Colleges/Universities with Gothic architecture in the south? I love the architechture of schools like the University of Chicago, Yale, and Harvard. Who are two architects of the Gothic architecture style? To be honest, I'm not sure what I'm asking either...I have something I have to finish for school on Gothic architecture, and the rubric is oh-so vague. Just throw some architects that did cathedrals at me, I can roll with that.

I had never heard of the ANZ Bank Building so I g**gled it and found the following link which includes some pictures I thought it would be nice to share with others here. Actually this is an example of Renaissance Revival architecture not Gothic so it doesn't really qualify for the reckoning here. It is beautiful though. What is the history of the Gothic style of architecture? Where did this style originate from? Cathredals built in Gothic style were copied from what previously, if anything? Who invented or came up with this style? Goths. okay, but my main question is , how did this style originate? how did it evolve ?
