What is the difference between Bachelor of environmental design (architecture) and bachelor of design? University of Tasmania in Australia offers Bachelor of environmental design (architecture) and some other universities offer Bachelor of design (architecture). What is the difference between the two degrees. Both the degrees leads to a masters in architecture and with that can be registered with the association of architects. I want a degree in architecture but I am afraid a Bachelor of environmental design (architecture) from University of Tasmania will be less recognised than a Bachelor of design because I know environmental design is different from architecture. Thanks.
Architecture design? What is it about and what do you do? Hi there, I'm in grade 12 now and I need to start thinking about my future. The other day I came across Architecture and Interior design as a career path option...and I was wondering if someone could explain to be in detail what do you exactly do and what kind of qualifications would you need?
What job could I get in Architecture or design during college? So I am preparing to enter my second semester of my college freshman year. I do not think I can get an intern position until after my sophomore year (correct me if I am wrong). I would really like to get a job dealing with design in some manner (landscape architecture, interior design, general architecture). Obviously these require a degree, or at least to be good at it. I realize I will not be designing buildings, but I want to get into this field in some manner, be it a "coffee runner" or an assistant. Any suggestions?

Creative way to present a project about interior design and architecture? I have to present a project about interior design and architecture and it has to be AMAZING. This is our biggest project of the year and it's due in about two months but I'm already behind. We're allowed to make a powerpoint but it can't be our main way of presenting. The audience is supposed to "participate" but we can't do a quiz or game show. The presentation will be in parts, so any ideas about how I can present some information?

What good colleges are out there offering architecture and interior design? I want to go into interior design and my boyfriend into architecture - what colleges are out there offering a good program for both? We want to be near each other, but we also want to get the best education that we can and have the best job possibilities in the future.
Is it better to go into architecture or web design? So here is the deal. I am going to the National Guard in January, and when I return in March after 9 weeks of boot camp, I want to start enrolling back in college for my second degree. It's going to be a degree in architecture, however, with the recent housing slump and the recession and all, is it a field that is worth going into? I figured that if that didn't work out, I'd pursue web design, yet another passion of mine. I used to work for an architect, but I left because he was a miserly old fool who cared more about how many hours you worked as opposed to how much you were worth. Any suggestions?
What should I do, Architecture or Interior Design? At the moment im studying ND Art & Design. Im planning to go uni soon and wondering which course would be better. Sustainable design? Is an engineering or architecture degree better? I am currently in my first year of engineering and am thinking of majoring in civil engineering. If I want to do to sustainable design of commercial, residential, or industrial buildings (making their construction, energy consumption, and materials environmentally friendly) would it be better for me to complete my civil engineering degree and specialize in sustainable design/architecture? OR would it be better to transfer into architecture and get a degree in that and then a masters in architecture and sustainable design?

I have started with the first year of my college . But I am so confused what to take as my majors. I like interior design and architecture both. Which career is better Architecture or Automotive Design? Please, I need a good answer that it can tell which career is more interesting and attractive because I really like both of them too much. In my opinion, Architecture is little bit more important because it affects more our lives, but I am not saying that Automotive design for me is important too. Both of them are really creative. But I want to know that opinion of someone else. Please, Explain your answer. What job between these two is more remarkable for the world?

Scientific method in Art, Design & Architecture, how? How is the scientific method applied, or rather hypothesis tested, in subjective arts and design disciplines such as art, design and architecture. Example; the problem is how should a building be sculpted or styled in a given context? Hypothesis, gather clues from the context and formulate a thematic strategy. Then test it against known precedents for credibility and apply. The problem in creative disciplines is just this, the context or conditions are normally specific to the project and solutions creative and original. Thus, it would be counter productive and/or hard to find and use precedents. Finally, results are subjected to taste; a solution that works just fine on paper could still be rejected in practice. How should the design disciplines then be informed and should the scientific method be used at all? Please help.
Does anyone know any design or architecture firms hiring in Michigan? I live in southeast michigan, and due to other commitments at the time, I cant afford to move out of state, but if someone knows of any interior design or architecture firms that are around macomb, oakland or wayne country, it would be much appreciated, or some sites besides Monster and Careerbuilder that are helpful in finding a design job in michigan. Even a job that pays more than 10 and hour with little experience needed in anything right now wouldbe fine, as long as it isnt extensive labor. Thank you :( I hate our economy here in michigan I have a degree in bachelor's of interior design...
what is the law of numbers as it applies to design, architecture, and why so? why are certain buildings and interior designs pleasing to us? i heard of some sort of relationship of numbers, a so called law of numbers, that applies to architecture and design, because it is repeated again and again in nature. please tell me about this 'law of numbers,' and show me diagrams in links, as well as examples of, how the law of numbers is found in nature, therefore, how designers and architects follow it? is there any true merit in this? if an architect does not use them, will it cause the structure to have less strength, or less popularity? does this law of numbers also apply in any way to shapes in solar systems / galaxies?

Any recommendations for books on minimalist architecture or design? I am looking for a well-written, well-photographed, preferably recent book on minimalist architecture or design that includes both information about the minimalist concept as well as several relevant case studies. I'm not actually expecting an informed answer, so if I receive one, I'll be ecstatic (and I'm sure the answerer will get a few points, as well).

Why not an Architecture and Design section? I'm a bit disappointed with this entire Art section on Y!A. A category such as "Visual Arts" generally deals with inconsequential projects by amateurs. Furthermore, there is no allowance for someone to discuss issues of design. Not fashion, which is a very limited view of what design is, but design topics like Architecture, Urban Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, Interiors, etc. It's a universe of creative applications, and yet nothing seems to address it in this forum. Anyone else have a thought?
What is the difference between Architecture and Urban Design? Can you study Urban Design at a University? And I also would like to know if there is any website that will give an outline of a building firm (for study references) including everything, from the Executive to the Construction Department. Thank you for any help :)
Do you think other people view architecture and Industrial design as easy subjects to pass? I was recently talking to my friends about uni and got myself into an argument on whose course was harder to pass. One was studying a doctorate degree and the other was studying a bachelor of psychology, and both seemed to think that their courses were harder than “drawing a couple of triangles and squares on a piece of paper” My question is that do you think other people view architecture and Industrial design as easy subjects to pass? And do you think that some people are unaware of what these design courses really involve?
is there a field of work that involves both interior design and architecture? I'm thinking about starting my own business that designs houses. Any ideas on how to do this? What degrees would I need? I would like to create a business that designs houses (both with architecture and interior design). I was wondering what my first steps to making this happen should be. Also what classes I should take in college, good colleges etc. etc.
Need to analyze the requirement, design the architecture & decide the design pattern for .NET project? Hi All, I am new to System Analysis & Design. I have a project which has a SRS document which is not yet complete. There might be additions/deletion later. The project has to be done in VB.NET and MySQL currently and later ported to ASP.NET. The project is about the "Lodge Management" - basically the hotel room management with restaurant billing linked to it. I need to design the best architecture ( rather a robust framework ), need to identify Presentation, Business & Data layer, prepare a design document (HLD & LLD). I dont understand the words like design patterns, UML, SOA, MVC, Visio document, Project Management, Effort Estimation etc. Can some one send me some good document with a practical system problem solved ? It will be helpful even if you give me some link on the web where I can proceed step-by-step to design a great software piece. Please help me.
