What colleges have good landscape design programs? I am now a Senior in high school and have become somewhat interested in landscape design/architecture. However, I can't find any college degree programs that fit this job title. I am trying to stay in the northwest, specifically Washington or Oregon. Could someone please help me or let me know of any that are out there? Thanks.
landscape architecture design? My question is how hard is landscape architecture in college in terms of exams, essays, and test? Because i do have an eye for design and the creative arts of shaping land into beauty. But I'm not smart as in memorizing stuff, I such at writing and chemistry. Is there a difference between Land scape architect and landscape design? Also i cant draw but i have a vision and Im very creative.
Architecture or landscape architecture (some questions)? I know that I want to pursue a career related to architecture, but I don't know if I should study architecture or landscape architecture in college. Initially, I was thinking of only architecture, but then I came across landscape architecture, which has aspects of nature and botany, which I think would interest me. Any advice for how to make the best decision, and career prospects for each field? Also, I want to someday run my own business. Would one of the aforementioned fields be more suitable for entrepreneurs? Thanks.
How much math is required for landscape architecture? People say that architecture in general requires a lot of math. This makes sense, but I was wondering what kinds of/how many college math classes you are required to take for landscape architecture and how it compares to architecture.
Information on landscape architecture? I am a college student majoring in Architecture. I have been thinking about switching to landscape arhitecture. I live in Nebraska so I will not be able to be a landscape architect year round because of the snow, would I? I heard I would have to minor in community and city planning, I just need information over this career path any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Edinburgh College of Art or Sheffield University for Landscape Architecture? I have had offers from Edinburgh College of Art, Manchester Metropolitan, Leeds Metropolitan, Kingston and Sheffield University. I am interested in conservation and the ecology/landscape architecture course at Sheffield has excellent teaching marks etc. The course in Edinburgh is only landscape architecture but I love the idea of living in Edinburgh. How do these 2 universities compare? What are the students like? Which has the best reputation and higher standard course/facilities? thank you - i wasn't expecting anyone such informative responses! if it is possible could you please tell me more about ECA / the course / student life?

Prepare for landscape architecture? I want to be a landscape architect. I am currently doing my GE's at a Community college. I will transfer to Cal Poly Slo. What should I do to better prepare myself? I heard it is helpful to learn photoshop and auto-cad. Can you suggest some books i can start reading or things i should do to make my time at cal poly a little easier?
What are the differences between a landscape architect, contractor, and designer? Can someone tell me the differences in those fields as in what their job responsibilities are, skill requirements, salary, etc? Thank you very much! :) I am incredibly interested in Landscape Architecture, however, there are limited colleges near me (I already have to drive 2 hours to Tampa for LA college). Also, I am currently a concept artist/illustrator and skilled with Photoshop, so maybe landscape designer is best for me?
are there many jobs for landscape architects? i think im going to study landscape architecture in college mabye at philadelphia u. is this a good idea? are there many job opportunities for me after college or should i study something else?
change major to landscape architecture? I need advice!!! I am going to be a sophomore in college and currently am a chemistry major. I am thinking about changing my major to landscape architecture but I don't know if this is the right choice for me. I am not talented artistically but with a good work ethic, I can make do. I am afraid that not being artistically gifted will put me at a disadvantage with this major. What do you think? I am really really organized, love being outside and gardening which is why I think this major may be the right one.
Urban Planning vs Landscape architecture? I am an urban planning major in college. Does anyone have any suggestion on whether should peruse a masters in urban planning, a masters in landscape architecture, or a dual degree program (MURP and MLA)?
What's the best college to study Architecture near the Bay Area? I live in San Francisco and I'm going to go to a community college first to transfer credits to a better college. But what college is the best one for architecture near the bay area? I first though it would be Academy Of Arts in SF because the idea of teacher who currently still work in the "Business" seemed very appealing. But the down side is that school tuition is ridiculous. So which school is the best to study simply Architecture. Not Interior Architecture or Landscape Architecture.
What job could I get in Architecture or design during college? So I am preparing to enter my second semester of my college freshman year. I do not think I can get an intern position until after my sophomore year (correct me if I am wrong). I would really like to get a job dealing with design in some manner (landscape architecture, interior design, general architecture). Obviously these require a degree, or at least to be good at it. I realize I will not be designing buildings, but I want to get into this field in some manner, be it a "coffee runner" or an assistant. Any suggestions?
Landscape Architecture Program Problem? Hi, i am going to a community college this fall and i want to major in landscape architecture. i am hoping to transfer to uc berkely after i get enough credits. the only problem is that the community college i am going to does not have a architecture program. does this disqualify me from entering to an uc ? because i really want to major in LA . what should i do ?
What are some colleges that offer...? I would like to study landscape architecture in college and I was wondering what colleges offered good programs in landscape architecture. Possibly which colleges offer the best landscape architecture program?
Famous Landscape Architect Quotes? I have to do a photo essay based on a quote related to landscape architecture to apply for a major in landscape architecture at my college. Can anyone think of any quotes by famous or well known landscape architects? Searching for "landscape architecture quotes" did not give me much... what do you think of "Works of landscape architecture tend to be ephemeral, and their moments of perfection (between long periods of growth and decay) are fleeting." ?
cal poly san luis obispo or uc davis landscape architecture? i need major help in decidng where to transfer to for college. i'm going for lanscape architecture and i know cal poly seem to be the best chose and it is well known name but davis is also not bad. So both school are great but i am wondering how the living style would be like and the cost of living. for example renting a apartment. and jobs avali. I also got a silly question to ask. i was thinking of quiting school for one year before transfer so i can work and save money. so i won't be stress out when i`m in school. because i know that cal poly lanscape arch. has a program if you drop or fail a course it can take up to another year to continue... any sugguest. it will be great help if those who are FASA student can tell me how much you receive in these school and how living sytle like thanks you so much for your time.
psychology or landscape architecture? i'm about to start my third year of college (although credit wise i'm pretty sure i'm still considered a sophomore). i'm currently a psychology major. i love the classes and everything...but i'm concerned about life after my degree. will i make a decent amount of money? are there jobs out there? another one of my interests is landscape architecture (huge swing in a different direction). if i changed majors, this would obviously set me back in terms of when i would graduate. but would a degree in landscape architecture be better than one in psychology? in terms of job opportunity and salary, which would be better? serious answers only please! if you don't know, don't bother answering
Mechatronics engineering or landscape architecture? I'm having a little trouble on deciding my major. I have a very huge interest in 2 different fields, for I love the field of robotics and engineering. And just recently I've had a sudden love for horticulture, landscaping, gardening, and designing. However, mechatronics engineering is a very hard field and the classes are very in depth with mathematics and problem solving. I know in the long run I'll be making more money with an engineering degree, but will I be able to make it through all the rigorous math classes? Right now I'm taking my college core classes and I'm currently in pre-calculus and I'm already struggling with some of the chapters. Would it be logical for me to just get a degree in landscape architecture/horticulture? And how well is the job industry demanding for landscape architecture?
I want to major in landscape architecture but I feel like I'm not doing my full potential? I honestly think I would love doing landscape architecture as a major and career. I've always loved thinking of new ways to make my backyard look better, I've raised plants, I love digging, and I used to build organic dams in the backyard when I was small. I'm in my first semester of college, and I know I need to decide on a major soon. I want to pick landscape architecture as a major, but I feel like so much potential is being wasted. I'm superb at math/calculus, science, computer science, and english. If I major in LA, I probably won't need to take math anymore or computer classes. What should I do? I plan on talking to a counselor soon, but do you guys have any advice? Should I decide on different major so I can feel like I'm using all my skills, or should I stay with LA? And do you know what the BEST college is? Hopefully its in California..And I'm a guy, not gay though lol :)
What are some Art and Design Colleges in Florida? What are some Art Schools in Florida and which is the best? I am very interested in Ringling of Sarasota. However, I'm working towards Interior Designs and Landscape Architecture. Please give me some ideas here! If you've been to an Art school-which one was it and what was your experience with it? Thank you!
major in landscape archtecture? well going to be a freshmen in college and planning on majoring in landscape architecture. so wondering what exactly do you learn? what exactly is it? is it building related or plants? what kind of jobs do you get from this? kind of confused here. so any opinions about it? your thoughts and feelings?
I would like to major in either computer science or landscape architecture, but I can't choose? I'm at my first year in community college, and I'm having one of those "what should i major in!?" crisis. I was originally choosing to major in computer science, but after alot of research and thinking, I'm not too sure anymore. It's not the fact that I have to take 5 calculus classes since that's my best subject, but it's just that you don't get better as you stay in the job since the technology is always changing, and you always have to be updated. However, one of the things I have always liked is gardening and plants. Yeah, I'm a guy, but I've always loved working with plants and digging/etc, as well as where to put plants and how things look. Hell, when I was 14 I would build miniature soil dams in my backyard to drain water out of the yard. So, I've also been thinking about majoring in landscape architechure. But my qualm with this is that I'm not the best conversationalist,I've always hated art with a passion (Except for drawing maps, diagrams, etc.) , and how can I be sure i'd be good at this profession? Also, so much of my potential will be wasted since I excel at math and computers.. Anyway, can you please give me some advice, I need to decide early since if I decide to major or not in computer science, I have to start now.
Georgia college offering a degree in Landscaping? Landscaping Design (or landscape Architecture) is what im looking for, the only college i've found offering a major in that was University of Georgia. Landscape Contracting Business? Yes, I am currently a senior in high school. My plans for life is to go to college and get a masters in Landscape Contracting/Architecture (Yes a dual-major). After college I wanna start my own landscaping firm. The college I'm attendin gives skills to start my own college but what all do i need? how much money would the owner get as income? and where is the best location to work (higher need of landscape firms)?
I want to become a landscape architect I got my bachelors in Studio Fine Art and would like to become a landscape architect. I do not have any real experience in the field, but i will be taking a CAD intro class at the local community college to better my chances of getting into Grad School as well as a GRE study course. My question is, should I try to get a second bachelors in landscape architecture or will it hurt me when trying to find a job? My GPA from school was 3.1 the last sixty hours and I am still struggling to write my letter of intent for Grad school. I'm not even sure if its that good, seeing that i don't have a whole lot of experience. So would i have better chances of getting into a BLA program or a MLA program? Also if any one could tell me how long it takes to get a second bachelors it would be a great help. Thank you!
Best College for Me? Architecture? I'm almost at the stage where I will be applying to colleges and I can't seem to find one that fits me well. I am interested in a good school for architecture and landscape design (major and minor) or interior design. I want a school that costs less than $20,000 a year, and I know thats hard to find. But with scholarships and financial aid, if I can get it to $20,000 or under, that would be good. I need it to be in the Northeast corner of the United States: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington DC, and I'm even willing to go as far as Virginia. I don't care about private vs. non-private, size (I really don't mind how small or big it is), or diversity, it doesn't matter to me. Know any good colleges with good reputations that fit my criteria?
Of all the CSU colleges, which one would I like the best? I want to go to a really big college I want it near the beach and near a lot of shopping and cities Pretty campus, good architecture and landscaping Nice dorms, not cheap/dumpy any info pleaseeee about these schools majoring in business

Architecture Portfolio for College! HELP QUICK, HOW SHOULD I ORGANIZE IT?? I need to make an Architecture portfolio at USC, and it must be postmarked by Wednesday. I have all the pictures, drawings, and models photographed, scanned, or otherwise digitalized. However organizing the portfolio is something I'm not sure about. How should i organize it? Should I include a table of contents? Should I keep all the pictures portrait, even though some pictures are shrunk when they are naturally landscape? Should I use two sides, or just one side of the paper? Any other suggestions?
can someone lend me a hand on a college major? if anyone has knowledge on the requirements, courses, and anything else I would need if I were to study physical therapy or landscape architecture, please let me know. also, i'd be starting college in 2012, so after i would graduate with either degree, which profession would be a easier transition? Lastly, what schools in the north east would be the best? thanks!

What are my chances of getting into a semi-selective college? My grades were decent freshman year, perfect (4.0 gpa, 4.2 weighted) sophomore year, but so far this semester has been really hard for me; I still have to take my exams but I think I will end up with 3 A's, 2 B-'s and possibly one C+ or B-. Ive had some personal issues but I think I can do much better next semester. my gpa is 3.7.I'm in marching band, color guard, yearbook, and I have a really great job as a florist. I plan on taking more extracurriculars and possibly tutoring, and will probably get into NHS at my school. I am also going to volunteer this summer and take a few design/architecture classes at our local college. I want to major in Landscape Architecture in college, and the most selective schools I will apply to are probably UVa, Illinois Urbana-Champlain, and UW Madison. What are my chances of getting in to any given school, mainly the ones mentioned, even with an iffy start to my junior year? (p.s.- havent taken ACT's yet but I took a practice test and am aiming for a 28 I just have one more question: what is Uofl? University of Florida? Good to know I would most likely get in but I dont want to go to school there! :-) thanks anyway!
Landscape Architect??...................? Okay, so I'm currently in college right now, and am deciding on career paths.. I'm kinda considering a degree in landscape architect but I'm not too sure. Do landscape architects have to do a lot of math? Is the job outlook good for a landscape architect? What exactly does a landscape architect do on a daily basis? How hard is it to land a job with a landscaping architecture frim? Any other info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Should I move to LA for a film career? I am currently a freshman at Oklahoma State majoring in Landscape Architecture. However, I want to pursue a career in film. My question is, should I stay at OSU and just switch my major to theater and then move to LA to study film after I graduate here, or go ahead and move to LA, go to a community college for a year, and then transfer to UCLA's undergraduate film program?
College Application Process...Help!!!? ok... i am about ot be a senior this fall... and i will be applying for college aswell... and i need help with all this college process.. and also im first generaation student and makes it even harder becasue i have no one to help me out... What should I minor in? I'm a landscape architecture major, and since I'm a little ahead of schedule, I want to minor in something. I was thinking about urban and regional planning, which is in the same college so that I won't have to take any pre-reqs, but then I heard I should minor in something different from my major in order to open up more routes in the future. What should I do? Any advice?
acceptance into the university of texas at austin? I am going to be a senior next year in high school and i really want to go to UT. I am only ranked about the top 40 in my class and its not a big class maybe 200. I dont think i did that well on my ACT i only got a 20. I do extracurricular stuff as well like sports. I would like to get into the university of texas landscape architecture program. do u really think i would be able to get in. I could also go to my community college for a year and then transfer. Do u think its possible.
Moving to Seattle? Okay so, I'm in my 4th year of college, majoring in landscape architecture with an emphasis in sustainabilty, and I've begun to think where I might like to move to to start my career and my life for that matter! So as of now, my top choice is Seattle, WA! but I had a few questions about it... First off, I was born and raised in the South (lived in New Orleans until I was 10 and Atlanta since then and I currently attend UGA) what kind of culture-shock could I expect, if any? Next, which would be the best areas to live in? I'd like something inexpensive and preferably downtown, so I could walk or take public transportation to work. And also somewhere that allows pets...I have a dog, a corgi...she's small and quiet. Then how are the people and the social scene there? What are the pros and cons of living there? And would you suggest somewhere else in the country/state? and if so, where? Thanks! Also, I'm really into kayaking, whitewater and otherwise! I know Seattle is known for being very outdoorsy but would it be good for that? Where would be some prime places for that?
Architecture schools? What are some colleges and universities in the US known for a strong undergraduate program in architecture? Or a program known to lead to eventual success as a landscape/building architect? I'm not looking to apply or anything, I just need names of some well-known prestigious schools in the field (Public and Private schools welcome) Thanks a bundle!
What should be a good career to get in to? I am going to college, and I am going for something that has to do with drawing. Either in Drafting or Architecture .... Buildings, Industry Products or Landscape. I am having a hard time trying to decide which area to major in. I start college in May for remedial study since I have been out of school for quite some time. Since job demand goes by where you live, I live in Monroe, Michigan if that helps. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.
Can i get into Penn state main or Pitt main? I'm in state about 45 mins away from pittsburgh my high school GPA at the end of my junior year will be around a 3.6 my SAT score is a 1680 (600 reading, 530 math, 550 writing). I've had a job for about a year now and will continue to work there this summer and senior year. I plan on doing community service this summer also. COLLEGE!!! Please help me!? Hi, I may be only 14, but I am looking @ colleges. I have run into a problem though. I want to become a landscape architect, but I can't find out what I should take in High School to help me out. Is there anything specific I should take in High School that will give me a higher advantage in architecture. Also, which do you think would be a better school for landscape architecture, University of Florida or University of South Florida.

Purdue University- Should I go or not? I want to major in architecture, and I've been looking into the field of landscape architecture, since it deals with both the environment as well as architecture; both of which I'm interested in. I've been admitted to Purdue's college of Agriculture to major in this field, but will my majoring in Purdue help me in the future with job offerings, etc.? Will it look good to future employment oppertunities? I'd appreciate any help!
i need help on choosing a college!!!? i would loveee to get a degree in landscaping architecture or perhaps engineering. anyone have some helpful ideas or colleges? i would rather stay in texas. i am a senior in highschool, top ten percent as well.
What school should I go to? Hey I have no idea what college I want to go to.. I want to go to a college that is around a very foresty area. Stuck on what A-levels to do? Okay, I'm stuck on what A-levels to do. I'm expected to get an A in all of my GCSES except for Science (which is expected B). When I go to Uni, I want to do Economics/Politics/Architecture/Landscape Architecture. I've decided that I'm definitely doing Economics and Government and Politics. However I'm stuck on what to do for my last two subjects. I have been thinking Pure Math with Mechanics and History of Art. This would lean towards my career of being an Architect. Though I am also thinking of Pure math with decision and Modern History which would be more helpful with Economics/Gov and Politics. It is difficult decision thinking which. If I were to go with Pure Math with Mechanics and History of Art and if I ever get a degree in Architecture/Landscape Architecture (Which would then be around 2015), I want to know if the architecture/cities in most developed countries/major economic countries such as Europe, US, Canada, East Asia (China, Korea Japan) etc etc would have been completed by then. Reason I ask is that I don't want to complete my Architecture degree then find out it is useless and I have wasted 4 years on a pointless degree. If I were to go with Pure Math with Decision and Modern History, I keep thinking that the "four" knowledge-based subjects would be a bit of an overload? I know that alot of colleges recommend taking an "arty" course though I can't think of one which would be suitable for Economics/Government and Politics. Long story short, should I choose either Pure Math with Decision and Modern History, or Pure Math with Mechanics and History of Art as my 3rd and 4th A-levels. And my question I mentioned about Architecture and about the four knowledge-based subjects being an overload. Thanks. Sorry for the wall of text.
which college? okay i am a senior at highschool and want to pursue a career in LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE and i have narrowed down my top college choices to 4: which ones you'd suggest? if you go to any of these is the architecture program good? basically what do you think on each of them?? Cal Poly SLO Cal Poly Pomona UC Berkeley UC Davis THNXX IN ADVANCE!!!
Hello, I'm in college right now and I am thinking to be an architect, but there is so much architecture jobs architecture jobs as project architect, landscape architect, Licensed Architect, Solutions Architect, Data Warehouse Architect, Enterprise Architect, Software Architect , J2EE Architect , Technical Architect, Information Architect, Senior Application Architect, and Java Architect. If someone know the difference between them, can you please tell me a different between all them and what they do, in a very brief information or any clues about the. And what is a right one. There so many, and I'm confused about what I have to pick. Thank You.
I'm thinking about going to college...? at either Rutgers (new jersey), Ohio State University, Penn State, the University of Washington, or Utah State University. Which one should i got to. I would like to study landscape architecture and I want to go to a good college. Give me ur opinion.
Can someone who is in the Army Reserves or Guard help me with art and media MOS questions? I am a current student enrolled in a community college with a major in landscape technology. I am considering joining the army guard or reserves and have a meeting with a reserves recruiter and contacted a guard recruiter. I know how persuading they can be so I am looking for some very honest answers about possible future MOS. Since considering the option of join the military, I've been leaning towards art/media because it seems to coincide with landscape architecture. Its been suggested to ask around do alot of research and I've been doing that as much as possible so if there is any advice for a MOS in art/media or for a young woman considering the military with some college I would appreciate the honest answers :)
HELP PLEASE! ASAP Which course is right for me, Architecture or Information Design? I just graduated from high school and i'm on my way to college, but i'm having a hard time choosing between these 2 courses. I like both and i see myself being good at them. Architecture - i like art/draw, design stuff - my dad is a well known architect - i wanted to be an architect since i was little - i have more advantages than any other architecture student(because of my dad etc) - i really like to improve our city and provincial landscape - profession - boring at times - unlimited work Information Design - i can go to Advertising - it has art and communication in it. - computer stuff is needed here and i like some computer art programs/graphics stuff - i like designing new and creative things - really revolves around ART - it's a new trend and it's easier to get a job here - it can give me different job opportunities(eg. advertising employee, freelance designer etc) - lots of competition - i'm kind of a shy person BUT i want to improve my public relation skills. my life=ART
Transfer to UC or just go to state university? I am currently a senior that has applied to many schools but due to the budget crisis, I got rejected at many schools. I am planning to major in Architecture or related majors. I got accepted to Cal Poly Pomona for landscape architecture, and got placed in the waiting list for CSULB for Interior architectural Design. I am still waiting for another college that I applied in Canada for Architectural studies. My problem is that my family is just right to pay for CSU yearly, but they prefered if I just transfered to either UCB or UCLA for architecture as a junior from Community College. I guess it's cheaper to transfer but wouldn't it be harder to transfer in? Which option should I take?

Interested in moving to Charleston, SC after college? So, I'm a Junior at UGA majoring in landscape architecture and I am interested in moving to Charleston, SC after college. I just had a few questions. 1) How is the job market for my field? (if you know) 2) What area what be the best to live? and how much can I expect to spend for housing?(given I'm younger and not so rich! ^.^) 3) How's crime there? 4) What about weather? daily? yearly? hurricanes/tornadoes/flooding? etc. 5) what about community opportunity things? (i.e. theatre, local groups and fun things) 6) and just anything else you're inclined to tell me I really love the area and really want it to work out! I'm so excited! Any help you can offer would be great! Thanks!
I think I've found my passion in life: Landscaping! Now what do I do?!? I'm a college senior about to graduate in Business Marketing, but I recently got a summer job on the grounds crew at a local country club. I've come to REALLY enjoy being outside and designing plant beds and putting together nature in an artistic way. I've been reading up a bit on Landscape Architecture but it seems like quite a complex area with a lot of information. Where should I even BEGIN researching this industry and what advice does anyone in landscaping have on how to get started? Thanks in advance!

[IM 18...ALMOST 19] HOW CAN I CONVINCE THEM THAT I NEED IT? my mom's not very thrilled about the whole college thing =/ so its not like she cares much =/
What major should I go for if I am extremely good with computers and like to help the environment and do labor? I'm struggling to figure out what to major in for college. I am extremely computer literate, and even know more than my computer science professor. So naturally Computer Science would be a good major for me. But when I researched it, I have to take 5 more classes of calculus, and you have to constantly read about the new languages that develop as technology changes. Although I'm good at math and know I could make it into UCLA if I want, I don't want a job like that. I want a job that utilizes computer programs but doesn't revolve around it. I have many interests, especially of protecting the environment and working in the garden t (no I'm not gay). What would be a good major for me to choose? I've thought about landscape architecture, but I'm still not too sure if I would be the best at that job. I'm afraid if I get an Environmental Science degree I'll end up being a teacher.
Help ME,College? I'm confused here. I want to stay in Pennsylvania for Landscape Architecture. My tuition at Lehigh is free, however I want to go to PSU since there 4th in the nation for their L.A. program. Lehigh however only has an Arts and Architecture program. Is it a good idea to start off at Lehigh for my required classes like English, etc... and then switch to PSU later on for just the L.A. classes?
College in Shanghai, China? I am moving to Shanghai in the next few months. I would like to study Landscape Architecture, but I'm not sure how to locate schools in the area that offer the degree. I did find the Shanghai Jiao Tong University International Continuing Education Center, but they are limited on degrees. Can anyone give me links to schools in Shanghai (taught in English only) for a Landscape Architecture Degree?
What education do Architects receive? I'm researching for a book and one of my characters is an architectural college student. I researched as best as I can but the results are very vague. I know there's a Bachelor of Architecture and a Masters. Is masters the specialization if it's buildings or landscapes, etc.? My character is 23 years old so by that point, what is an architectural student doing or studying about? I really have vague ideas and would appreciate if anyone answered my questions.
Expectations in College? As it is, I'm a Sophomore in high school... ---I get my work done and go way past my expectations, but I am a procrastinator. ---The best work ethic I have are in the classes PreAP English II and Art II... If I were in a regular English class, I'd be scoring over a 100 and I'm making a 100 in Art. ---That's just a little info. for you about me. My question is, "What are the expectations in college? I'm going to college for the following reasons... -*-I'd like to be extremely successful in my chosen profession (landscaping, architecture, interior design, advertising artist, graphic designer, painter..) and I'm not going to go beyond my expectations unless I go to college. *I'd have more people to fill in as my friends when I'm feeling out a job application for the boss to see if I'm reliable. *I feel I'm going to school with dummies and have not yet reached the peak of knowledge that I'm capable of handling. *Going to college looks better on a college application.
Anyone living in England!! What are your views...? I live over in America and England has always been in my interest ( Most likely since 5th grade). I'm a senior now and the college that I am going to attend lets those majoring in what I am, to study abroad. I'll be going to England of course. But I'd like to get to know England's views on a couple of things, to understand more about it. 1. America seems to focus on looks more than talent, or base opinions off of clothing, especially in the media, is it the same over in England, or is there a little more than judging off of a first impression? 2. Many Americans dislike our current president, do you agree that they should, or shouldn't? It is believed that Bush hasn't made the greatest choices in the War on Terrorism 3. Does our nation meddle with other country's policies a little too much? 3. What is it like over in England? I've heard it's very rainy, but in terms of the architecture and landscape, what's it like? What would you say is the most impressive building? You all helped me out so much!! It was great hearing different views and opinions from those actually there and I appreciate it. I'll be sure to visit the mentioned places =] And I can relate to the sarcasam lol, my family comes off as a group of arrogant jerks. Its just fun. thanks!
World Lit II-- Can anyone help me with a 'literary analysis'? A single mom back in college, I am a little overwhelmed this semester. Its the end, and I am struggling with, among others, writing a 7 pg analysis of The Best Way to Rob a Bank is to Own One; recreating a piece of art with a human element from our text book (and have no camera..); write a paper on the artistic architecture of a church and the origins, and-- *take an author we've read this semester (Conrad, Joyce, Sartre, Pirandhello, Borges, Beckett, Fugard) and write our own "original and informed analysis in essay form." It should reference previous critical analyses, and refer to specific passages from the primary text (I assume what was in our textbook, like No Exit; Heart of Darkness; Six Charactes Searching for an Author; The Dead) with each reference properly cited in MLA. He says "I recommend " starting in the library, as "specialized encyclo. and books offer more authoratative and interesting ideas than..the broad, general landscape of the web.." Any ideas/help?
What is it like living in Chicago? I'm a jr in college majoring in landscape design and have been looking @ graduate schools in Chicago. I'd really like to go to IIT to get my masters in Architecture. So what are the pros and cons of living in Chicago? I'm from NC, and currently attend school in Tallahassee, Fl which is slow and boring. I know I want to live somewhere with a faster pace. I'm sure it gets really cold there in the winter, but I'm sure I'd be able to adapt eventually. Also, if I do go to grad school up there although I'd be bringing my car hows the public transportation system? And What are the people like? How is the crime, is there a lot to do there?
Has anyone ever used the dating personal section of Craigslist? I am a 19 year old country boy, tall and thin, not bad looking, get straight A's in college as an architecture major. I work at least 5 or 6 days a week at my job and then do landscaping work on the side. I am a strong Christian, and have never drank or smoked. My problem is I have never had a girlfriend, I have always wanted one but I have never been able to find a girl who had similar interest, farm life, country music, basketball, family values, and Christian faith. I am thinking about posting an ad on our local craigslist, but didn't know if anybody had ever used this sight for that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks I just don't know how or where to meet girls that I would be compatible with, since I don't go to bars or clubs or anything like that. Located in Southern Illinois. I have never used Myspace, Facebook, or any other friend site like that, so I don't really know how to do those kind of things. I always prefered to just see or talk to my friends.

Need help with a literary anaysis, and posted my question under books/authors without realizing...? A single mom back in college, I am a little overwhelmed this semester. How difficult is it to get into Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) for grad school? I want to go to IIT to get my masters in Architecture. I am currently @ Florida A & M University, and majoring in Landscape Design. I expect to graduate in 2011. While reading the Graduate Admissions Requirements, it says I'd need a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution for regular admission. Students with an undergraduate GPA of at least 2.5/4.0 may be admitted as non-degree students. I currently have a 3.2 gpa, which is good, but I'm sure IIT's Arch program is really competitive, and I'm nervous a 3.2 won't cut it. It also reads, the GRE requirement may be waived for applicants to professional master's degree programs who hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher. I'm positive my gpa will go up after this semester. Also, if you live, have lived, in chicago, whats it like there. I'm sure its really cold in the winter time, but I'm sure I'd adapt eventually.

There so many, and I'm confused about what I have to pick. Thank You.
College Majors question? I can't make up my mind what I want to study in college. Im only a sophmore in hig school so I have time. But I want to know what you think of each I like nature, so I thought about wildlife photography. I am also considering architecture, or landscape architecture I like sports. I am thinking about communication to maybe be a sports reporter. It would be fun to be a coach, but I have my doubts about it. Then Im also thinking about criminal justice and EMT/fire science What do you think of these. What are the ups and downs. I don't want people to come on here and tell me to follow my heart or that I should'nt ask random people to decide my future. I am not, I just want to hear opinions from everyone.
Question about college: is this necessary? Ok So I want to go to Texas A&M when I graduate, and I want to get my Masters in Landscape Architecture, BS in horticulture, and a Bachelors in Business. Do you think this is an over kill? and how longs would that take? (How many years)..thanks =D Have a great day.
Need help deciding on what to focus on in school? I am currently a psychology major but I'm having second thoughts about it. I'm not known as being an outgoing and open person & my family wonders why/ how in the world am I going to talk to people to be successful in my major. I've definitely realized that I am kind of antisocial but I also realized I want to change that. So I'm thinking hopefully if I stick with this major it will help me become the person I want to but then again change is hard for me & it's really hard not letting what my own family said bring me down. I'm not sure what else I'd study. I want something that'll get me a job I love, where I can mostly work on my own. I'm not a business person at all, so not that. I'm considering Community Health or Landscape Architecture just because job outlook looks better than with psych and seems doable. I know most psych majors don't actually work in their field after college, mostly marketing stuff and that doesn't sound like me. What does anyone else think?
colleges, universities? I'm looking to return to school after a number of years off. I need to complete undergraduate studies. I have a bit of dilema, I like photography a lot,at the same time I' big on theater and film as well. I've always wondered what good a film degree could give you, and I know it can open some doors, but in all honesty its still pretty tough to get in. Second photography, if done I'd want my own studio, eventually and while I don't mind working for someone else, nor what the pay is, I have a unique take and look on pictures and go againt the grain a lot the time with focus and angles, so I figure I should learn the traditional stuff and then after that I'd be able to better facilitate my unique photos. I'm big on scenic landscapes and architecture from different and sometimes odd anngles. I'm thinking I want to major in Photography and thenamybe join a film club at the university. Anyone have some good universities that have great photography programs? Any recommendations? As far as the location of the college, I'm not too concerned, I'll go where I feel I will have the best experience possible. Thanks. -AD
I need help deciding on a college Degree? I've already been to college once and withdrew from my program after I decided I did not enjoy it. I now have about 80 credit hours I can transfer into another program but because I am 30k in debt to student loans I do not want to rush into another degree I wouldn't not enjoy. Honestly, not to sound conceited, I do not think there is any program beyond my ability to complete. I took education very seriously in grade school and I am also very artistically inclined. So, here is what Interests me but I can not think of any type of career it would apply to. The bottom line is that I would love to do any type of humanitarian work that will help future generation. Urban/park development... social responsibility... something along those moral lines. I enjoy: welding, painting, working with animals of all types (land and sea), architecture, history, english, writing, TRAVELING, expeditions, designing space layouts, landscaping, building and organizing projects. anything is a huge help! In case you are wondering: my degree was a Digital media production major. In encompassed film, recording arts, webdesign, lighting, and sound.
movie i saw in my english class? Our teacher in my college english class last year showed us a film/movie the was really cool but i can't remember the name of it! it was all images and videos and i think it had music in the background. it was all really cool images of people, wars, buildings, architecture, landscapes, etc. and i think they all kind of blended into one another. it was a really weird, long name. it was very cool and i'd like to see it again. has anyone else seen this movie? and what is the name of it? i took the class while in high school, so i can't ask her.
