Interior Architecture and Design from Pearl Academy of Fashion? Hello.. I am a 12th class student and want to be an interior designer.. Do you think a 4 year degree from PAF is a good option? Are there any other good colleges regarding the same? Also, please suggest me whether a degree in interior design is good enough for me getting jobs later on or should i first do architecture and then do a course in interiors..?? Please help me decide.. Thank you!

I am looking for an interesting computer game(s) with all of that on there.I have already had the Sims 2 for a few years and I am tired of all the the same things.I want a lot of more things to choose from...like unlimited. I know I could get the Sims 3 but if anyone knows of any other computer game besides the Sims I would appreciate it that very much!

what is the difference between interior design majors and architecture majors? i want to have an interior design major because i like remodeling and designing furniture but i realized recently that architecture is technically the same but more of the actually building. i want to also design buildings exterior, interior, and landscape but i dont know what you actually learn when you have an interior design or architecture major. sooo my question is, what is the difference and what do you learn when you have an interior design major and an architecture major?
What to put in my Interior Architecture/Design portfolio? Hi all... In my mid 20's currently living in London, however will be moving back to Melbourne to live and study Interior Design or Interior Architecture. I want to start working on my portfolio, but am VERY lost as to what I should put in it? Uni's seem very broad on requirements (show creativity!) - should there mainly be perspectives and elevations of interiors? should I combine ideas on exteriors as well? Do you focus on one idea from different angles or a bunch of different concepts? Do you include random sketches as well? photos of inspirational buildings? Any clarification would be appreciated.... Also, do you know if, as a mature student, my work would need to be a higher level then potential students straight from High school? Does anyone know of any great differences between a degree in Interior Architecture as opposed to a degree in Interior Design? And lastly, can anyone recommend the better universities in Melbourne for Int. Design and Architecture? Thank you so much for your help....
Creative way to present a project about interior design and architecture? I have to present a project about interior design and architecture and it has to be AMAZING. This is our biggest project of the year and it's due in about two months but I'm already behind. We're allowed to make a powerpoint but it can't be our main way of presenting. The audience is supposed to "participate" but we can't do a quiz or game show. The presentation will be in parts, so any ideas about how I can present some information?

We want to be near each other, but we also want to get the best education that we can and have the best job possibilities in the future.

What are some key terms for interior architecture/design? Hi guys! I hope this is the right section for posting this question (if not, just let me know where would be better). I have a foreign client whose job is as a consultant in commercial real estate development. His specific role is meeting with prospective tenants of a commercial space and going over the configuration of the space to meet the clients' particular needs - he tells the clients whether what they need/desire is technically achievable and whether it is practical in cost. He is not responsible for the actual aesthetic interior design, but rather the nuts & bolts of what can/cannot be done in a space and its cost relation. This client of mine wants to learn the technical terms related to his job. While I've worked as a building inspector before, my specialization was in accessibility, so my knowledge of the terms is quite narrow. My guess is he needs more terminology related to space division (walls, etc.), flooring, ceiling, HVAC, fiber optics, as well as the actual instruments/components of interior building. What would you guys consider the key terms? You can just rattle off a few that strike you as important. IF you know of any illustrations of interior spaces with labelling of architectural terms, that would be an added bonus. I have a few dictionaries of architectural terminology, so you needn't provide detailed descriptions, just the words alone will suffice. Thanks sooooooo much. Thanks, Charles, for your answer. I think he's wanting to learn terms like "suspended cieling", "partitioning", "HVAC", etc. That's the type of stuff I'm looking for. The three I just mentioned are more on the obvious side, but I suppose there must be specific terms (of which I'm ignorant) for other features of interior architecture.
graduation project ideas for interior design>>what do you think? hi, i'm a senior student of interior architecture & design, and I'm thinking for my graduation project to design a: 1. "driving center- with virtual reality technology" 2. "psychology, reflection and meditation center" i've searched a lot for examples or something close to them but couldn't find any :S have any one heard about any examples of these two options any where??!! and what do you think is better??! thnxxx :)
interior design/architecture.....? ok, so i basically know the difference between the two, at least the practical difference, anyway, such as licensing, etc. what my question mainly has to do with is education. from what i can gather, interior architecture requires education and licensing as an actual architect, with a focus on interior design. if you go to school for a bachelor's in interior design, then go for a master of architecture, would that cover all required education? my wife wants to be an interior designer, but would actually prefer to be an interior architect. we will be living in NJ, however, and there are programs for interior design, just not interior architecture. there are, however, programs for architecture itself, so she could feasibly complete a degree in both. is this a good way to go?
Should i take Architecture or Interior Design in University? i'll be applying soon, and i'm wondering which one i should take. well i've always thought that Architectural Science or Environmental Design are "more broad", and on of its branches is Interior Design. but then i found out that at Ryerson University, Arch. Sci. and Interior Design are 2 different courses. Should i rather take Architecture if i don't only want to do Interior Design, but i'm also interested in Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning? EDIT: i meant "and *one of its branches"
architecture and interior design? I'm only a freshman in highschool, but I already know what I want to do in the future. I want to become both an architect and interior designer, but I'm not sure it would work out or not. Will one get in the way of the other? Also, I'm wondering if drawing is a really important part of it because my drawing skills aren't the best, but my math is really good.
is there a field of work that involves both interior design and architecture? I'm thinking about starting my own business that designs houses. Any ideas on how to do this? What degrees would I need? I would like to create a business that designs houses (both with architecture and interior design). I was wondering what my first steps to making this happen should be. Also what classes I should take in college, good colleges etc. etc.
how do i put architecture and interior design both on my personal statement for university? i am finding it hard to put architecture and interior design on my personal statement as im applying for next year 2009, i would be greatful if you can help me and give me some pointers to make a start on it. I think i want to do interior design but architecture is what i really want to do but interior design might also be ideal for me if i get a place at a uni. thanks
What could be the best for me, architecture or interior design? I am about to graduate from high school and I am preparing for college but I'm not sure what course to take. I like arts but i'm not really gifted with the talent in drawing, especially free hand drawing. But I have done simple technical/mechanical drawing.
Architecture design? What is it about and what do you do? Hi there, I'm in grade 12 now and I need to start thinking about my future. The other day I came across Architecture and Interior design as a career path option...and I was wondering if someone could explain to be in detail what do you exactly do and what kind of qualifications would you need?

Should I take up Architecture or Interior Design? I'm going to college soon and those are my two choices. The thing is, I want architecture more. The thing stopping me is that I'm scared because I'm not that good with math, science, and all that. What would be the wiser choice?

Which Occupation Should I (Possibly) Look Into: Interior Design or Architecture? I'm beginning to think about college and careers. I've been interested in interior design and architecture from a very young age without really realizing, but now I have realized that it may just be something I would love to do. What are the pros and cons of each one? What are the qualities that pertain more to one or the other? What are the college majors like? Is there any way to be both?
What is a Interior Architecture and Design degree like? I'm planning to study a BA Interior Architecture and design degree in September. I'm quite nervous, I have researched it, although I hear various different interpretations of the degree. I am very creative and I think the degree will be promising. Although, what is the degree like in terms of Creativity, workload and career prospects? :) Thank you
I don't know what to choose between Architecture and Interior Design. Help? Okay, I dont know what to choose between these. I want to take Architecture because of the high salary, however, I love Interior because it's my interest. My heart is on Interior but my mind is on Archi. Now Im really confused because I don't want to spend many years for the Archi. I'm also scared on taking up Archi because I might lose my Dean's List award (an award received by the top students of the batch who achieved a high GPA every semester).
is the university of Florida or cornell university a good college to go to for Interior design? Im a senior and I have I think I wanna do interior design...but im not entirely sure, and I want to go to a collage that offers a bunch of variety. My dad mentioned going to cornell and flordia university (gators)....Are these good schools for interior design/architecture? College decisions? Architecture/Interior Design major? I'm seventeen, currently a junior in high school in California. I've been looking at colleges a lot lately and I can't seem to find one that fits me. I am definitely going to stay in California, and I'm an A student, so i want to go to a nice school. I'm interested in Architecture AND interior design. However none of the top four year schools offer BOTH. I don't want to go to an art school. I'm highly considering Berkeley and Cal Poly San Luis Obisbo for the Architecture major. I guess what I want to know is, would it make sense for me to get my Architecture degree at Berkeley and THEN pursue my interest in interior design at an art school afterward? I'm not familiar with any of this type of stuff. Do people commonly go to two different schools if they cant find ONE that suits them?
Does Miami International University Of Art And Design offer architecture? I am considering going to Miami International University Of Art And Design for interior decorating, fashion design and photography.......I also really want to go for interior architecture but I don't know if interior architecture is a part of the study for interior design or if it is even offered at this school. Any thoughts?
Anyone have first hand experience w/ Interior Design or Interior Architecture programs @the following schools? The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia College Chicago, Parson's School of Design, Fashion Institute of Technology and Rhode Island School of Design. What is the program like? How are the professors, facilities, technology? Is the school more interested in their students educations or how much money they can get from the students? Thank you Skyblue for your answer but I already know that. I will be returning to college to finish my degree. As for the FIDER accredition, that is not always true.My last school was FIDER accredited and it was awful.
Interior design jobs in New Zealand and Australia? I'm an American interior designer. What are the best web sites to look for architecture/interior design jobs for New Zealand and Australia? Want to move there but don't know where to start looking for design jobs. Thanks!
Art Store- Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts... and so on!? I am currently doing research for an entrepreneurship class with intentions on starting an art supply store. I was thinking of creating a store with intentions of supplying students, design firms, and current artists with specific supplies that may be tough to find in other general art stores. I would love to include some other ideas I have for this (which are plentiful) but also have feedback from other artists and designers and their thoughts. I am an architecture student, but am taking business classes, and I know how it is difficult to get the supplies needed. What are your thoughts? Specific supplies, how much you spend on supplies, what are you looking for that is hard to find, the hours of the stores, and how is the atmosphere in the stores you typically enter? I would love some feedback from the consumers. Thank you!
Psychology, Architecture, Interior Design Degree? I am tossing up with all these options. Which one is the most rewarding career? Which is good for salary and employment rates? Please give me any info about these if you have done them .. thankyou ...
Architecture & Interior Design majors? I've been an architect student for 2 years now. But I now realized I have more of an interest pursuing a career just in interior architecture & design. I know you can get a job as an interior designer with an architecture degree, but will I be more qualified for the position with an architectural degree or an interior design degree?
is interior architecture the same as architecture design? i'm actually thinking of what course to take in college/university i thought of applying to Rhode Island School of Design or Parsons New School of Design, now Parsons has this bachelor's degree such as Architecture Design, i read the description and compared it with Rhode Island's it seemed the same but just to make sure, is interior architecture the same as architecture design?
interior design vs interior architecture? I am looking into majoring in either interior design or interior architecture, but as I research about them both I can't really see the difference. Can somebody clearly define both careers for me?
Interior Architecture or Product design as a career? hey, i am in a bit of a dilemma..... i think i would enjoy interior architecture but i do product design at A2 (already had one year of it) any i enjoyed it so i like them both.... which has better career prospects. e.g. employ ability, salary, job satisfaction? any help would be much appreciated cheers
What are some colleges that offers architecture/interior design? i like more a of BIGGER school a college that brainy acts dont go to i am a aveerage to a little bit above average student so something i can get into. and is in a place where its mainly warm most the time but occasionally snow in the winter time but not that much!! and maybe even a college that has GOOD party college????? anything you want to add is great thanks!
Architecture or Interior Design? What is the difference in pay between interior design and architecture. Architecture i would assume makes more but anyone know numbers?
Interior Architecture & Design? I'm looking at Interior Architecture and/or Design for a career and I was wondering. Is there a difference between Interior Architecture & Interior Design? What exactly is Interior Architecture & Design? What are the requirements? (i.e. Art, Math...) What do you do exactly? And in the long run is it a good career to uphold? THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE! :)
Interior design/interior architecture? hey, from reading the rather depressing read that is the thread http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=826878 and this http://www.designcommunity.com/discussion/28683.html i am wondering whether interior design/architecture is the same state? and whether it is worth studying for? cheers
Is it necessary to be in science stream & give joint entrance exam to study interior designing & architecture? Do you have to major in interior design to become an interior designer or can you major in architecture? I recently got accepted to U of Illinois, it does not offer an interior design program but it does offer a degree in architecture. I am not certain what I want to be yet but I was curious if the degree in architecture could offer flexibility for my career choice. I want to be sure that if I do end up majoring in architecture I could still possibly be an interior designer. I was also curious if I do want to be an interior designer I could possibly double major with some sort of art and architecture?
Should I major in Interior Design first, then go to grad school for Architecture? So, I want to become an architect. I was wondering if it would be reasonable to get my B.S. in Interior Design at SFSU first, and then go to graduate school at UCB for a degree in Architecture. Does this sound reasonable at all? I would love to get some input, especially from experienced architects or interior designers. Thanks!
I'm looking for a program that will do 3D interior design and architecture.? What is the industry standard program for architecture? Is it still AutoCad? I'm looking for a program that will let me design the interior and exterior of homes, as well as get blueprints from it. Currently I use the Better Homes and Gardens program just to play around with, but I've also used Maya and 3DSM, so I do have a grasp on the more "complex" programs. Cost really isn't an issue! I'm just trying to find the best program available for what I'm trying to do without having to resort to 4 different programs and then mesh it all together! Thanks!! (Oh and I'm not an architect or interior designer! I'm in web and graphic design!)
Interior Design and Architecture Dilemma? I'm into architecture and interior design and know I want to be in this field. I think interior design is more up my ally than architecture. However, I know having a degree in arch will allow me to work as an interior design (but not vice versa) and is a much more professional career. I'm tired of explaining that interior designers are not decorators, but I absolutely love the work of an interior designer. I got into the University of Cincinnati for interior design- this is the number one school in the nation for int design. It puts me in a fantastic position & gives me great status to put on a resume. However, I also got into the architecture program at Ball State University. There they offer a minor in interior design- the best of both worlds. What do you think I should do if I'm leaning more towards int. design but want unlimited career opportunities? I know arch. gives me more flexibility, but is it smarter to go to such a special school as UC for i.d.? Or graduate with a minor ..in interior design with a bachelors in architecture? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know any design or architecture firms hiring in Michigan? I live in southeast michigan, and due to other commitments at the time, I cant afford to move out of state, but if someone knows of any interior design or architecture firms that are around macomb, oakland or wayne country, it would be much appreciated, or some sites besides Monster and Careerbuilder that are helpful in finding a design job in michigan. Even a job that pays more than 10 and hour with little experience needed in anything right now wouldbe fine, as long as it isnt extensive labor. Thank you :( I hate our economy here in michigan I have a degree in bachelor's of interior design...
Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design? Which of these three do you suggest a girl to study in College and why? Thank you all for your help! :) i really need everyone's help in this, so thanks for those who helped and i want others to help too ... thank you.
interior design vs. architecture? i m interested in interior design, but will it be better if i major in architecture? whats the difference between a B.Arch and a B. A degree in architecture?? which universities have good undergraduate program in architecture?? UC schools, USC, Parson, Pratt??? please help!!
