What is the difference between roman and gothic architecture?
Does anyone have good websites that display the differences? Sorry, I meant romanesque.

- You actually have to ask that question? !!! Just google "architecture, roman, gothic" But for simpicity's sake, for Roman, think arch, rounded arch. For Gothic, think pointed arch.
- Gothic was similar, but had a lot of gargoyles and dark features built into the structures.
- The arches are the most obvious differences - romanesque are rounded, gothic are pointed: http://www.historyforkids.org/learn/medieval/architecture/gothic.htm http://www.christian-travelers-guides.com/archit/diagrams.html http://freenet.buffalo.edu/bah/a/virtual/fr/stdenis/hist/hist.html (pictures of romanesque and gothic crypts) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanesque_architecture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_architecture Hope this is of some use!
