"Nothing in excess and everything in proportion" Thoroughly explain how the preceeding quote can be applied to Greek architecture.

- Greek beauty is thoroughly related to proportion. The Greeks went to great lengths to perfect their architecture, and make the proportions as perfect as they could. As for excess, as grand as Greek temples were, there was not sculpture or carvings on every surface like in Egyptian architecture. They went for a more simplistic approach.
