2. Classic Greek ideas of beauty in architecture -- in terms of proportional shapes, use of the golden mean, etc. -- continue to inform architectural designs today. This is particularly true in public buildings (as opposed to individual houses.) Even in some details, Greek decorative details, such as the use of marble and columns, informs US public buildings such as courthouses and city halls. (Seen clearly in Washington, D.C.) But these tend to be detail -- the big influence is more formal.
