how does greek architecture help us today?
Public Comments
- Many style innovations of Greek architecture have been used in later styles, such as the revival styles. Nearly all our important government buildings are designed on the basis of the Grecian temple. They were also innovators of the post-and-lintel construction (essentially, a weight-bearing frame, like a door). The grid style city layout with intersecting 90 degree angles was created by Greek architects as well. This is a common city layout today.
