  1. WOW! I don't even know how to begin to answer this! First of all, his designs were like nothing else out there, when you take in consideration when they were built. If you ever have a chance to go inside and look at any of his buildings, you will understand. Secondly, he was an amazing man. A bit arrogant, but only because he felt so passionately about his work. Look up Fallingwater, that's a good start.
  2. He is very famous in architecture. it is hard to describe his work, but it is ... glorious to say the least. Google him, I am sure you will be impressed. His buildings were meant to be what they are ... sigh lol
  3. His work, published in Europe in the Wasmuth Portfolio, influenced European and ultimately world architects, notably Le Corbusier, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Walter Gropius. Considered one of the fathers of Modernism (in architecture) his designs were a significant revolution against the excessively-styled architecture of the 19th century.
  4. His works were unique in that he followed the rule "function over form". His buildings didn't look alike nor did they look out of place in their surroundings, because he built his buildings to blend in with their environment. His buildings became part of the landscape instead of being a huge expensive monument styled after classical Greek architecture with their huge columns and colossal proportions(which was the rage at that time) and stood apart from it's surroundings. His modern style was considered fresh and original. He also utilized every space in his buildings and designed them with great minimalism and functionality in mind. The Japanese are some of his greatest fans since they find his style reminiscent of their Zen philosophy.
