What is intrinsically "Roman" about Roman art & architecture?
Also what was the role of Roman Emporers as patrons of the arts?

- The arch and also natural features of humans, realism.
- They regarded the human body, athleticism, beauty, etc. very highly. This is definitely shown through their artwork, especially their sculptures. In paintings, unlike those of the Medieval times, people's faces are done with great detail, expressing the respect for the human figure. Everything was also very mathematically based. For example, the arches and buildings were created symmetrically and built with mathematics in mind.
