what is the best rendering and animation software for architecture?

Public Comments

  1. AutoCAD is the industry standard last I heard. As far as I know it's the engineers tool of choice.
  2. Check this wiki article. The links at the bottom... I know when I attended school to learn such software they touted firms (but not graduates) were commanding $100/second. When I googled this question, I see firms in India offering walk-throughs (user-controlled animations) for about $150.00. 3DMax is owned by the same company that owns Auto-CAD and Maya. All of them have a steep learning curve and the softwares are expensive. A free 3D program is blender.
