What do you mean by Service Oriented Architecture(SOA),why do CIO migrate to SOA from software as a service.?
In 2006 CIO's say that the trend they follow is providing software as a service. But the recent survey says that they are planning to migrate to Service Oriented Architecture(SOA). Why???

- A service does not require maintenance of a product. The cost is lower.
- SOA is an architecture that allows an organisation to define an interface between key software components in the business. By doing this the software that performs the function required (say Human Resources) can be replaced by another vendor's or custom built software without changing the interface. This allows organisations to provide a best fit between there business needs and the functionality required to be performed.
