Revit Architecture 2009-How can I calculate the square footage of a flooplan?
I am new to the Revit Architecture 2009 software and I can not figure out how to calculate the square footage of floorplans without manually multiplying the square footage of each area and adding them together. What I would really like to do is set it up so it calculates the square footage as I design the home. Is that possible? Also I would like to know how to label the rooms and insert dimensions. Thanks

- The key to determining SF is using Rooms or Areas. Rooms and Areas are found under the Room and Area tab on the left hand side of the screen. If you don't see this tab then you'll need to right click in the gray bar (the same bar that has Basics, View, Modeling, etc.) and select it off the list. Rooms and Areas can both be scheduled. Regardless of which you choose they can be used to generate SF totals. Rooms are better for...well, Rooms. Areas are better for the total area of a building. The key to scheduling this: Choose the appropriate schedule (either Room or Area). Be sure the correct object(s) are placed... either Rooms or Areas. Now while creating the schedule be sure to have "Grand Totals" checked under Sorting/Grouping. Also be sure that "Calculate Totals" is checked next to Area under formatting... this will generate your totals for Area inside the schedule. Hope this helps!
