Our company is starting to off-shore alot of our development. The contractors are responsible for coding and bug fixes, and the employees are becoming more and more responsible for designing and architecture...things like modeling and describing to business people how the systems fit together. I really don't know much about this, I've never designed anything. Could someone give some advice on how to start thinking more like an architect, and how to be a better designer? I don't want to be doing coding forever, and I don't want to be left behind, and everyone else get some experience doing architecture, and I'm like a deer in headlights and freeze up. Help.
