9 The pointed arch so characteristic of Europe's Gothic cathedrals was an invention borrowed from Islamic architecture. It was much stronger than the rounded arch used by the Romans and Normans, thus allowing the building of bigger, higher, more complex and grander buildings. 1. Prior to the crusades the Muslim civilisation was one of the most technologically advanced in the world. How could they fall so far? Well, I imagine people will be saying the same about our capitalist Western civilisation in 500 years....

12. Islam produced and maintained a great deal of scientific knowledge (literally rescuing Europe from the Dark Ages) up until the fall of the Ottoman Empire. After the fall, they retreated into various forms of extreme fundamantalism from which they have never recovered. Now, if they regain any symblance of the place in academia which they once held, it will be because they are learning from the West and western culture. 15. All what you mentioned is true. Muslims back in the day were much better and smarter. But the problem today is that the Media is so biased against Muslims and their history, and unfortunately many Muslims have become lazy.

19. Nice, I give you a star. There is some discussion however about the pointed arch. It might be a case of cross-fertilisation. Why you report haters? Talk to them, show them you have arguments.
