architecture..?
hi,i intend pursuing a degree in architecture next year.can anyone whos a qualified architect or either a student tell me what the day-to-day activities of an architect is like,what the job entails,pros and cons,etc..share your personal insight...and is creativity and artistic ability as a personal characteristics imperative...?

- If you are a good problem solver and highly creative you could be designing buildings and working out details ... If you prefer using computers, you could do amazing images that will help communicate what the building might look like... If you are good with people , you could be attending meetings, lecturing, leading a design team. It all depends on your skills, interest and expertise. Most architects do a bit of everything... When you start work you will be doing a lot of production work - CAD and hand drawings, 3D modeling, sections, elevations, preparing reports, etc. After the first few years, you can tailor your career to meet your interests. It is a good career if you love design and building things... But you will have to invest a lot of time, effort and dedication if you want to be good at it! Good luck.
