- all i can tell you is its tough...engineering & arts combined...
- There is a difference in I am interested in it and I want to do it. If you really want to gather information about the subject and the prospects (which is all the more important) then search for an architect's firm and request them for an appointment, they would be more than happy to help a young aspirant. Moreover theirs would be an accurate analysis. If you are just keen for the glamour part of it.... Well my Friend talk to your parents... there is no bigger well wisher of yours than them. I suggest choose the subject on the commercial value of the trade. I am sure you will do good when you decide that you 'want to do it' no matter what you decide to do.
- From what I've seen Architects are baby civil and structural engineers. You have to know materials, stress levels, sheer levels, building procedures and processes and you need to know some high level math.
- Well it is different based on school of architecture. In Malaysia even you take the diploma program it is very tough actually because in one semester you are focusing in various subjects such as major subject is the design and other is building construction, structure, surveying, environment and services, architectural practice and many more based on what semester you are. But what can I say here is math is very important in this course because you need to understand the technical aspects in design. One more is about the student score is it depend on how you manage your time for study. Every course has it's own difficulties.
- Even i m a student of architecture... first yr of b.arch... i study in U.AE.. Here u require maths as a subject only in the first semester...but yea lot of calculations and problems are there in physics as a subject...n this part is really imp n may continue till 2nd or 3rd year.... Here the system of examination is quite different....so u get a chance of scoring well in exams as there r two kinda exams in a semester... one internal (50 marks)n the other external(50 marks)--> for theory subjects... subjects involved in the first sem were Theory sub: technical english maths principles of architecture building materials and specifications Sessional sub: architectural design creative arts descriptive geometry C++ programming The subjects which i m studyin now in the 2nd sem are: Theory: History of art n culture History of eastern architecture Statics n strength of materials Building materials n specifications (II) Environmental science Sessional: Descriptive geometry (II) Architectural design Building construction Creative arts Thats it from my side....Will let u know abt the 3rd sem once i complete my 2nd :).. Hope this helped u!!
