Is it possible to go to architecture school from a completely unrelated field?
I studied chemistry in college, but I'm more and more interested in architecture and design. Is it possible to get a graduate degree in architecture and become an architect? Some people are telling me I'd have to go back to college.

- you'd have to go to architecture school, and then you have to pass 9 tests on architecture in the state you live in, then have so many hours of internship, then you get a license. chemistry has nothing to do with architecture.
- You will need to take the GRE and apply to an NAAB accredited architectural Graduate School, usually 3.5 years. You will need to work for another 3 years under the supervision of an architect before you are qualified to take the Architectural Registration Exam. The ARE 4.0 which consists of 7 tests (NOT 9 as stated by the other poster). Only after the completion of the ARE (in every State other than California), then you can legally call yourself an architect. A word of warning is the salary right out of school. First year interns make around $28k-42k/year with 55-70 hours/week no OT compensation.
