What are some of the best schools for Architecture in or around New York?

I'm looking at colleges, and SU is rather hard to get into, so I now I'm looking for back-ups

Cornell University has a great architecture program. I think it's a 5 year program though.
Cornell, as someone mentioned, is even more competitive than SU (both are usually ranked in the top 3 undergrad programs in the country), but they are both great schools. Other accredited schools in the state of New York include Pratt Institute, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Cooper Union, City College of the City University of New York, and New York Institute of Technology. Check out the NAAB (National Architecture Accrediting Board) website, you can browse accredited schools by state or region of the country. Good luck!
