- I personally don't see what one has to do with the other...
- Perhaps you could talk about handicapped accessible building. Many interior building spaces do not take into account that stairs are not an option for those in wheelchairs. Certain door ways and halls are likewise not designed for wheelchairs. Also, heights of counters, built in tables, or etc. are often too high for Dwarfs or other little people. Hope I was helpfull! -Alan
- I'm not sure what you mean, but here are some ideas that you could ponder: Do you place a window at street level and leave it to passersby to have the decency not to glance in, or are you inviting them to look and see how well you live? Do you arrange TV and computer screen angles to give the user privacy, or do you arrange it to allow anyone passing by to see what's on the screen? Would you place a toilet on the other side of the wall of a neighboring apartment's bedroom or dining room, even if the neighbor wouldn't know about it?
- Some of the potential ethical issues in interior design are as follows: Commissions: Most interior designers receive a commission on the furniture pieces they sell. Are they pushing the sales of these pieces to make a profit or to make the project better? Can they sell a similar, but lower cost fabric, etc. Price mark up in interiors showroom. Interior designers get a industry discount (up to 50%) when they buy items for the clients. However, these pieces are obscenely marked up to fool the clients into thinking they are saving money. The interior designer charges the client for their time and gets a commission as well in the end. Splitting ownership of design. Many up and coming interior designers are not recognized for their hard work since the company takes all the credit. Stealing clients within and outside the firm. Industry kick backs. For example, rug companies issuing incentives for specifying their product.
