roman architecture- ideas to help me start pleasee?!?
ok i have to do a writing assignment for world history. this is what we have to do: Find a picture of Roman architecture. Discuss how it demonstrates Roman culture, including potential influence from other cultures. In what ways do archaeologists and anthropologists analyze Roman culture, based on the limited remains of architecture and artifacts? Justify your answer with outside research. what are some examples of good roman architecture that i can compare it to other cultures and stuff.....? thanks in advanced.. oh and a link to a picture would be incredibly helpful :)

- The best example or Roman architecture are arches, like the ones in coliseums, if you've seen the movie gladiator its the place where they fight =]
- Okay one of the MAJOR INFLUENCES OF ROME is the aqueducts the most thing that even today, and that is it represents now the pipes and sewers, mostly on pipes, because pipes bring water right? Aqueducts did the same in roman times. And the first one to build it. http://www.hsl.virginia.edu/historical/artifacts/antiqua/assets/aqueducts.jpg Then the roman Colosseum, what a wonder, it made the brink of roman architecture or was it the pantheon, i forgot, well it designed the arches also the aqueducts, maybe it was the arches, but still the Colosseumum was BIG really big. http://oncampus.richmond.edu/academics/education/projects/webunits/greecerome/colosseum.gif Then the domes, really great, the romans were good at making concrete at it really great, oh they add mosaics on it really sweet, which uses the principles the romans used for its archiectecture. http://static.flickr.com/138/381618780_2d8949442e.jpg the mosaics are here that link but still its great for the stones colored , very brilliant for the walls and ceilings http://sp1.yt-thm-a01.yimg.com/image/25/m2/2045359567 And the very awesome pillars of Pantheon and more, which are at the white house and others, to be also America uses roman archietcture. http://static.flickr.com/52/170732457_6de96cdbf2.jpg HOPE THIS HELPS!
