Architecture? Anyone?
I have a project we gotta do... and it's to design a restaurant and a clubhouse for the military... the officers and the soldiers... my concept is focusing mainly on green, sustainable buildings.... i looked at ken yeang's work.. VERY inspirational... can ne one help?

- yeah first obvious and usual thing to do is estimate the space of the dining area (capacity): your dining space must be closely related based on how many military pesonnel will eat there i believe the kitchen must occupy almost 30% of the whole restaurant area i believe it is also better to provide some seperate dining areas for higher personnel (officers) or call them whatever you want since they are "military people" the wall must be 1 meter in thickness so that they will be safe on any threats of osama bin laden and michael bay.... no just joking dont use a 1 meter thick wall (research it) of course comfort areas for both sexes an ordinary kitchen for a restaurant you may consider the ff: storage for drinks(not still on frig) storage for drinks (on frig) storage for meats, fish storage for utensils, kitchen equips, (maybe cabinets) and the others are common sense like the range, the kitchen sink and the food preparation area. all you need to consider is the condition like: how many kitchen sink do you need? how many cooking range will you use? how big is the preperation area? it depends on the condition club house, you may want to consider a stage (built in or fixed) it might be used for special military days comfort rooms for both sexes vip areas for higher personnel a multipurpose area (thats the main area) the space again depends on the condition you can provide viewing terraces so about the exterior design concept.... it depends, consider the budget? i believe military people are not given much special treatment when it comes to structures so the design must be as simple as possible, but if you really want a concept then ill try to see my conceptual design, please be patient if you dont like it, im only here to give some help http://www.flickr.com/photos/23482898@N02/2351601364/sizes/o/
