I dropped out of a calstate long beach 3 years ago, I want to go to calpoly san luis obispo, help?

I was accepted to both calstates right out of high school, I decided to attend CalstateLB for family reasons. My main career dream has been in the field of landscape architecture but like an idiot I picked the school without the right profession. In overall, I wasted my time and dropped class and failed 2 or 3. So before getting kicked out, I took an educational leave and never went back. In my lost transition I decided to go to a cooking school and attended only 1 month and realized wasn't for me so I dropped again. I've mostly worked after that and a year ago I've been attending a medical trade school and will be graduating in march so I can get a job that pays the bills. I'm 23 now I keep regreting never taking the right opportunity. My main concern now is I want to get admitted into calpolySO, so for starters how do I start the process to get in and will my past educational failure affect me in anyway?

  1. Good news and bad news. The good news is that it is easier to transfer to SLO than to get in as freshman. The bad news is that it's based entirely on your GPA and test scores. Below is a link to Cal Poly's admissions site. Don't get discouraged!! The college of architecture, more than most, has a lot of people that didn't go after their dream the first time around. There are plenty of us there.
