Getting into Cal Poly SLO?

So Cal Poly will be the only school I'm applying to this year, as it's one of only about 3 universities in the state that have a Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture, the others being Cal Poly Pamona and UC Davis. I just started my senior year in high school, and should be graduating with a weighted GPA of around 4.2 provided my grades don't suddenly slip for any reason. I haven't taken the SAT I or ACT yet, but I'll be taking both this fall. I'm confident about being able to get in, but I would like other opinions and any suggestions about what I might do to improve my chances.

  1. well, if u were younger id say take the SAT more than once, its almost guaranteed that u do better on it the 2nd time around. but since that would be tough to do before Nov/Dec, just study hard for the SAT.
  2. You should have no problems. But if you do you can always go to a CC first then transfer. In fact its worth thinking about even if you get in to save money. Lots of people are doing it: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/22/education/edlife/22merrow-profile-4.html By doing that you can have money left over for a Masters, that will really help you with your future career.
