other careers for Architects? What are you doing if you have a bachelor in Arch?
I have a bachelor in Arch and I'm registered with 5+ years experience. All I'm seeing is people that don't really know the profession suggesting the obvious things like engineering, urban planning, landscape, etc. Those all require going back to school and really that is not my question. I want to hear from those with an architecture degree and if they are doing something else. If I have to spend the rest of my life at a computer putting buildings together, I wll go nuts. Anyone in the profession will know exactly what I mean. Thanks in advance.

- I don't understand what you are talking about being sitting in front of the computer. If you're registered, you should be doing a lot more than that. In my second year out of school, I was the lead designer in the firm and made formal presentations to owner and community meetings. You need to have a meeting with the principal of the firm to see why you're pigeon holed in the office. If you work in a large firm where you're just a number, then it's time to move to a smaller firm with a staff of 35-40 people, you will get to expand your work responsibility in that environment.
