What's the difference between "Interior Design" and "Interior Architecture"?
Public Comments
- Interior Architecture is the structure of the room or place and interior design relates to fabrics, furniture, colour scheme etc.
- there's no hard and fast division between the two- they overlap a bit. i'm an interior architect- i do everything an architect does except construct the exterior shell. i knock down walls, move walls, enlarge windows, shift electrical and plumbing, etc. but i also design or specify all furniture, lighting, wall finishes, flooring, door knobs, etc. (basically everything.) i think that generally interior designers have a little less control over the existing space.
