what laptop is good to run architecture software besides apple?

- You can likely buy good software for ANY laptop hardware, no matter what the operating system (MacOSX, Windows, Linux). What you're asking is, what hardware is good. I'd say, check for a screen that fits your needs, and make sure you'll get something that can handle the sort of mouse that'll let you draw with great precision. Remember, as some new computer buyers FAIL to do, the keyboard is EXCEEDINGLY important. Make danged sure its comfortable, and make danged sure it's going to be easy to clean when you get cookie crumbs and cat hairs down in it. But, the screen, the screen! For an architect, you may need a 17", no? I'm not an architect sort, more a photographer sort, so for me, it's glossy. For you, matte?
