Would a double major be too hard at FIU? I want to major in Architecture and Art or Interior Design?
I really want to get a lot done during my time in FIU (Florida International University). But I know wanted to know if you think they would be too hard or too much for me to handle? I mean if I major in Architecture and Art or Interior Design, don't some classes or credits transfer over?

- I can't speak about FIU in particular, but those majors do go together well. At my school (others might vary a bit), you have two options: 1: You can get ONE Bachelor's in TWO fields. This does not require you to take more credits than a single major, so long as you can manage to work in all of your required classes. 2: You can earn TWO Bachelor's at one time. This requires 32 more credits than a single degree, or about an extra year. 3: You can major in one field, and minor in the other. The majors you're talking about will overlap well; all three require some art, art history, and the core classes. What you want to avoid (and I've seen it LOL) is trying to double major in, say, Accounting and Drama. It can be done, but (a) what kind of career incorporates skills from these two majors together, and (b) since none of the major-specific classes overlap, you'd be in school for quite awhile! Also, I *think* Architects go to grad school, correct? If that's so, then that second related major would make you look good when applying. God luck to you!
