- The City of Tenochtitlan was completely leveled during the Conquista, so there are no surviving buildings. However, there are a number of temples and pyramids that were built in areas controlled by the Aztecs (built by subject peoples) that still stand, and there are numerous archaelogical sites that are in good condition. Tlatelolco in Mexico City is known as the "Plaza of Three Cultures" because it features architecture from the Aztecs, Spanish colonialists and modern Mexico. I'm also including a link to the botanical gardens known as Texcotzingo.
