I live in the Buffalo-Niagara region of western New York State. I'm not an expert on architecture but it has always been an interest of mine. This area is an architectural hot spot with everything from Gothic and Art-Deco to Googie and modern contemporary. But I've noticed that most of the really old houses built with in the city of Buffalo from about the Early 1800's to the early 1900's range in styles of Early Classical Revival, NeoClassical, (There are some Italianate in the south towns) And Victorian. From about 1900 to the 1930s or 40s more houses built were of Craftsman, Prairie, Queen Ann, Stick, Dutch Colonial, and Bungalows. More of the Many modern homes being built or built from the 50's and so on seem to be a combination style of Bungalows, Craftsmen and Queen Ann's. Much of the city how ever has a particular style of Architechture I cannot seem to identify. Here is a photo of a typical house from the area http://images.house.info/c9/c9e5979ab58dfb5acd7763d1ed3663d1.jpg And here are some others for better reference http://remax-north-amherst-ny.com/propertysearch/propertydetail.aspx?MLSNumber=326653&MLSMarketCode=BuffaloNiagaraNY&RecordCount=1 http://remax-north-amherst-ny.com/propertysearch/propertydetail.aspx?MLSNumber=330931&MLSMarketCode=BuffaloNiagaraNY&RecordCount=1 http://remax-north-amherst-ny.com/propertysearch/propertydetail.aspx?MLSNumber=331298&MLSMarketCode=BuffaloNiagaraNY&RecordCount=1 http://remax-north-amherst-ny.com/propertysearch/propertydetail.aspx?MLSNumber=324421&MLSMarketCode=BuffaloNiagaraNY&RecordCount=1 Can anybody help me out with what styles those might be? I'm very curious. Also: I noticed that most of the suburban homes built after WW2 are Cape-Cods.
