If 13 is such an unlucky number then why do most staircases in homes have 13 steps?
Is it architectures little joke on society or what?

- huh......i never noticed that......well that would explain when my uncle fell down the stairs last month and died pffft
- coincidence?
- i didnt know that but thats pretty funny :) 13 is acutally my favourite number
- I have no idea but I did just go count the number of stairs on my staircase and there are indeed 13.
- Cause its some sort of pun.
- because most steps have a set hight the need to be so it coincidental that it has 3 to reach the second floor, which also has a set number
- It's circumstance. It's due to the fact that floors are typically the same height in houses AND the fact that stairs' step height must be a comfortable height yet still span the overall height without making the staircase too long.
- idk almost everything on the back of the 1 dollar bill is 13 too the steps to the pyrimid and the stars above the eagle but thats cuz of the 13 colonies idk y thats such a bad number
