If 13 is such an unlucky number then why do most staircases in homes have 13 steps?

Is it architectures little joke on society or what?

  1. huh......i never noticed that......well that would explain when my uncle fell down the stairs last month and died pffft
  2. coincidence?
  3. i didnt know that but thats pretty funny :) 13 is acutally my favourite number
  4. I have no idea but I did just go count the number of stairs on my staircase and there are indeed 13.
  5. Cause its some sort of pun.
  6. because most steps have a set hight the need to be so it coincidental that it has 3 to reach the second floor, which also has a set number
  7. It's circumstance. It's due to the fact that floors are typically the same height in houses AND the fact that stairs' step height must be a comfortable height yet still span the overall height without making the staircase too long.
  8. idk almost everything on the back of the 1 dollar bill is 13 too the steps to the pyrimid and the stars above the eagle but thats cuz of the 13 colonies idk y thats such a bad number
