why do we need to study the history and theory of architecture?
hey friends... i need a brief essay on the "Need to study the History and Theory of architecture"... its a home work given to me... i dont want the whole essay .... but help me with some hints and tips about how to write the essay... for about two pages... i know about the history of architecture that i got on the internet... but whats is the need to know about it .... cant think of anything .... please help me out friends .... please. thank you.

- It give us an understanding of past societies and cultures. Even today we are inspired by past architecture in things we build today, clothing etc. Looking from a threatre perspective, it helps to create the characters, mood, setting etc. Without some architecture, we wouldn't know what clothing people wore or their values in society. You should focus on the Roman, Greek, Egyption, and Byzantine periods. Looking at pictures and reading about architecture from those periods will give you a better understanding. I would suggest just going to the public library and getting some books. In the few college courses I took on this subject, I found the library to be a better source of research than the internet. The internet just took too long, and didn't quite give what was needed. Also, sources such a wikipedia should never be used. They are a great start, but should never be used in the final product.
