In Gothic architecture, what is the ornamental stonework carved in geometrical patterns is called?

is it the Triforium, Clerestory, Nave Arcade, or something else? Thanks a lot

  1. It's called tracery (german: masswerk, danish: masværk). It is often used to support the big stained glass (rose) windows in gothic cathedrals but is also used purely as an ornament.
