What college classes would i have to take to major in architecture?

What college classes would i have to take to major in architecture? I know that math and physic are important, but is there anything else? (I am fluent in seven languages including french, Japanese, Russian, and English.) Can I take these classes online? I have my reasons that I do not want to take on campus classes. Any and every bit of information will help me. Thank you for you time and answers.

  1. You actually need to be attending a school that offers an architecture program...and even so Architecture is a Masters level program if you truly want to be an architect. You can take some pre arch classes as an undergrad...but it is typically a post graduate level degree taking about 3 years. like i said your school has to have an architecture program...and if the school has one they will tell what classes you need to take. Oh...and its going to be impossible to become an architect doing online classes.
  2. The undergraduate classes would be related to civil engineering. You would obviously have to take the math and physics, but you would also have to take engineering statics, dynamics, and strengths of materials classes as well as design classes and geology classes (soils and geologic hazards - 2 different classes). You will not be able to take those classes online. If you find them online, it's a scam. You cannot learn engineering and design from a book. You have to learn it from people and from your own experience. A degree in civil engineering or some aspect of engineering would be your best bet for going for a degree in architecture. Just so you know, employers do not take online degrees seriously, especially for things of a technical nature. You could combine online classes with campus classes (i.e. get your generals out of the way online), but you can't do it purely online.
  3. You can't become an architect without at some point stepping into a classroom. You will have to take design classes, drafting classes, tons of math, and more than likely some architectural engineering classes as well. Get over your "reasons" and just go to campus classes! They don't bite. Promise.
  4. you will have many drafting, engineering, and math classes I don't know that you could get an online degree in the area- you would be experiancing lots of hands on work (which can't be done on the computer)
