How does a landscape architect get a ME degree? Would I need to go back for a bachelor's in engineering?
I have an undergrad degree in landscape architecture and want to get a master's in engineering. Do I need a bachelor's in engineering first or are their programs that will count my landscape architect degree as fulfilling the requirements?

- You are asking about two different things here. One is requirements. A masters program requires a bachelors degree. So you have met the requirements and you can apply. But will you be accepted? Never. You have no foundation what so ever in engineering. You probably don't even have the basic math needed. There is no way that you could be successful in any ME program. Nobody would even let you try. The space should be given to someone who has a chance of success. So in your individual case, you really do need to start over in an undergrad program in the field that you are interested in.
- If there are openings in a grad school program, you could well get admitted. You would have to take a lot of the undergrad courses, so the MS (or ME) could take an additional 2 years. We used to call such grad students "retreads", because they had to be brought back down to the core of what they had learned, and added to, in order to get what they found that they wanted after their first (or sometimes second) BS. Because of the economy, finding a program with openings for a retread might be more of a challenge.
- start over with a BS in engineering...its the only u can be a true engineer The amonut of pre req needed to gain admission into a engineering grad would be the same as getting a BS in engineering . You will be fine...keep your head up and work hard ...it will pay off. If ur focus is architecture ...u might can even major in it. If not major in civil engineering .....its the closes to ur focus
