How are roman architecture and present day architecture the same?

Public Comments

  1. There not Romans took pride in their architecture!
  2. how many arches do you see in everyday buildings and damns? Look at the white house and capitol and virtually every federal building in the US.... roman columns, arches and the heavy use of marble......
  3. Roman architecture followed the Greek model, more or less. So did we, during our neoclassical period (this was when Washington DC was built). But that was 250 years ago! Present day architecture is "Post-Modern" and features unexpected angles and slanted planes - almost like the building has already fallen over. That's nothing at all like what the Romans built.
  4. Both rely on a good foundation. The Romans knew that unless you start with a good foundation and build your structure square and true it won't last. ~
