What is the difference between Ancient Greek Architecture and modern day U.S architecture?

- Ancient Greek architecture is fascinating within itself because the things they constructed were so advanced for their time; and they had no modern technology. The Greeks specialized in building with columns as support structures for giant temples. But also a major building accomplishment, given to the Romans but also Greeks, was the Arc. Building domes, aqueducts and huge Pantheons, the arc was a magnificent feat for them to accomplish with only meager technology. That's why the greatest architects are from the ancient empires of Greece and Rome. As Americans we have adapted some of these ideas and philosophies to our modern day architecture. Thus our structures will last just as long, with up to date maintenance.
- The ancient Greeks wanted their architecture to be beautiful. Modern day Americans want architecture to be either individualistic (one of a kind, no matter how bizarre looking) or CHEAP. We are Philistines.
