How has Ancient Egyptian Architecture affected or benfited modern life?

- The only connection I can think of is tourism. If there were no pyramids,no Karnak ,Philae or Luxor Temple, and the list goes on,then the number of tourists that come to Egypt each year would be immensely lessened. The effect would be massive unemployment and economic disaster affecting the lives of all Egyptians of the modern era. Have we carried over their skill in architecture, no? I often wonder what the ancient Egyptians would make of the concrete towers of the Nasser era that so many Egyptians have to call home.
