I need a vacation and was thinking Savannah, Georgia or Charleston, SC. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I need a vacation. My family and I were so busy this summer that we forgot to get away. We were thinking the first week in November. Yes, I am taking my kids out of school. I would like to see Savannah, Georgia or Charleston, SC. I just don't know much about either but I do know that they both have great architecture and homes. That is what I want to see and preferably from the water.

1. I live in Charleston, SC. It is truly beautiful here. It is rich historically, the people are wonderful, helpful, it isn't that expensive. The food is great, there is a lot to see, we have the ocean, the harbor, rivers, marshes, fishing, site seeing, the Battery, thousand year old oaks dripping with Spanish moss, the historic section is amazing, from the dungeon where they kept renegade pirates (including Blue Beard) to where the revolutionary war as well as the civil war. Museums pertaining to the Africans who built this part of the world, to the Gullah nation, the rice plantations, tea plantations. We have convention centers, I love this place and would love to have you enjoy this part of the world.
2. Local also. Savannah is nice. Wouldn't discourage a trp there. But I know that all you've mentioned is available in Charleston. The restaurants are excellent. The kids may not appreaciate as much you will love. There is alot for them too, aquarium , harbor boat tours etc. Many home tours to choose from. 4. I live in Savannah, and my roommate grew up in Charleston. Both are beautiful cities, but I think Savannah has a little more stuff to see, especially for families. Downtown Savannah's a little farther inland, also.
