Why do some countries use the ancient Greek architecture for their buildings?

- In the U.S.A. the style was considered a symbol of democracy; a form of government founded in Greece. - The most obvious reason is that Greek architectures is associated with governmental buildings. Also, it is traditional and portrays both power and strength. These are things governments try to portray. Classical lines and proportions have been found to be very pleasing to people, because of the laws of beauty we have been raised with. But mostly it's just so people will recognize the function of the building because they are so used to it.
