How horrible/difficult can it get to live at a Hostel ( in India) away from home ?
I am and Indian and i am planning to shift back to india after 2 years from singapore. I have been in singapore for the past 9 years and have never really been able to adjust myself well here.I always wished to return to india. i have now decided that i wud complete my 12th grade by year 2009 and then return to india.I would have to stay in a hostel there as my family would still be living in Singapore. I do have many cousins and relatives there but i think i should stay in a hostel. I just wish to know both the advantages and the disadvantages of staying in a hostel, away from family and home.I am interested in Architecture and hoping to get a good college with proper staying facilities.

- Well i have been through hostel life in Shimla(B.C.S.).It makes one homesick for a certain period in the beginning but once life settles down its all ok.The main thing to be kept in mind is to have plentiful of good friends coz it makes ur life easy.Best of luck and its not such a big deal which ppl assume to be.
- It should be a good experience ;-) I hope for you though, it's nothing like the movie Hostel
