which of these would you prefer to live in?
1. a high rise residential condominium that supports a green architecture/lifestyle -a unit in the 7th floor with good view with your own garden balcony -parking spaces -flexible/roomy room configurations -24 hour security -clubhouse/park amenities (public and are open to all residents) -commercial establishments at the ground floor with services (like laundry daycare etc.) -with built in transport (bus/train) station -less privacy because there are more neighbors/residents 2. a house that is detached -your OWN detached house but is slightly farther away from commercial establishments/public transportation -even bigger room space than condo units -own backyard -own garage -freedom in designing the exterior of the house -better privacy because there are less people/neighbors than high density housing -less urban and more quiet neighborhood ---if you can, please indicate the country where you live ---and what are the characteristics you like or look for in a house or a condominium (pro's and con's)

- Hi we live in Australia and live in a rural area (well semi rural) about 40 mins drive out of Brisbane City Queensland. I think both those have great merits and pros, and of cause cons, but it all depends on where your at with your life, how much time you have on maintenance, how much time will you be spending at home, do you have children, pets etc etc. We lived in the hubub of the city all our lives and moved out to the country 'ish for a total change of lifestyle. I must add that though this has been difficult and a learning curve we've found everyone exceptionally helpful and ready to share their knowledge. With the world financial fallout and the continuing growth of government crackdowns, rorts and rip off I find it very liberating. We can grow all of our own organic fruit & veges, free range eggs, and are currently working on solar power and wind power to kit out all our needs. Ranting a bit now...you can see I'm a fan of this life. At times of course I wish for a more easy lifestyle and a condo sounds wonderfully luxurious and easy to maintain, but I won't give this independence up for anyone. If you have kids and or animals and like to do your own thing, want privacy, independence (still possible in the suburbs) I'd take the detached house....more work, but well worth it. Whatever you choose, embrace your space, personalise it, and love what you've built or created. Best of luck and take care Jul
