Interior design jobs in New Zealand and Australia?
I'm an American interior designer. What are the best web sites to look for architecture/interior design jobs for New Zealand and Australia? Want to move there but don't know where to start looking for design jobs. Thanks!

- Ooh, design jobs are really hard to come by.... It depends how many years of post-graduate experience you have and what area of interior design you specialise in. eg. I have been working as an interior designer for 4 years (it has been 4 years since I finished at university) and I specialise mostly in office and restaurants. Most jobs require you to have at least 3-5 years post-graduate experience.... As for looking for jobs. You can try some Australian job seeker websites such as: www.seek.com.au or www.careerone.com.au or you can look directly on the website of companies. Bigger companies will have an 'employment' or 'career' section....they often list their vacant jobs on their website. The big architectural companies in Australia are: Hassell Woods Bagot Woodhead Swanbury Penglase Troppo Design Just to name a few. Google search them and have a look at their websites. You could also try www.yellowpages.com.au and search for companies that are located in a town that you want to move to - then you could just approach the companies directly - see if they have any vacancies... - Unfortunately Australian & NZ born designers & architects struggle to find work. Most become self employed but alot don't succeed. I can't imagine an American being hired over a local either as you aren't from here so wouldn't be familiar with what people want, the landscape, the weather conditions, etc & all of that is relevant here. Have a look at seek.com.au and seek.co.nz & I think you'll see there are either hardly any, or no jobs in that area at all. Also of course the recession on at the moment is the worst time you could come.
