Should I move to LA for a film career?

I am currently a freshman at Oklahoma State majoring in Landscape Architecture. However, I want to pursue a career in film. My question is, should I stay at OSU and just switch my major to theater and then move to LA to study film after I graduate here, or go ahead and move to LA, go to a community college for a year, and then transfer to UCLA's undergraduate film program?

  1. I would suggest you to go to LA and than transfer to UCLA.Cause the closer and faster you are to Hollywood the better chances you'll make it in films.
  2. UCLA's film program is NOT the best. The BEST film schools are: USC Chapman CSUN Art Institute in Pasadena (90% of the graduates are able to find employment) If Landscape architecture is no longer a passion then go ahead and transfer. But if it still is, finish your degree so you have another thing to fall back on or supplement your income.
  3. IDK. Can you do 2 majors at once? Nah, to much work. Though you are thinking about studying in LA you shouldn't just move there on a dream but more of a reality. I say take some online college classes for film (if available) plus houses are VERY expensive I saw a one story for $700,000 and dont get me started on the mortgage! Anyway follow your heart!
