Do architects make a lot of money?
so i reallly want to be an architect and i was wondering if they make a lot of money today? i know that they used to make a lot but now a days do they still make alot? i would like to hear it from real architect.... anyhew... i was wondering because we have a friend who has a friend thats an architect and he cant find a job anywhere... (maybe hes a crappy architect) but i deffinatly would be designing modern houses/buildings etc. i love modern architecture like frank lloyd wright please help!! thanks!

- yes and no, at first youll wana shoot urself but after like 5 years they make money big time
- successful architects make good money, failures ... not so much.
- It depends how good you are. As with all things that involve design, your portfolio of work is what really matters. If your work is good, you'll get hired. The profession did get hit hard by the recession because building projects had to be canceled or put on hold, so there was nothing to design. Once the economy comes back, those jobs will come back too.
- well i really want to be an architect too like you and i was researching it and on the internet many people are complaining that it is currently very hard to get a job as an architect right now and they are not getting paid much lately. I think this is weird though because my uncle is an architect and he is pretty rich so i guess if you are really go you get paid a lot.
