Should I take up Architecture or Interior Design?

I'm going to college soon and those are my two choices. The thing is, I want architecture more. The thing stopping me is that I'm scared because I'm not that good with math, science, and all that. What would be the wiser choice?

  1. I recomend you make an appointment to speak to a counselor. They are alot of help in giving advice as in requirements and things needed to exell at your Major. Don't do the typical mistake of avoiding things cause your not good t certain subject. Doent work that way. My major was Architectual Drafting. I recommend it only if you into it cause it consits of learning how to Draft which is challenging, once you naster that thn they teach you Auto C.A.D. Which they teach how to use the program and learn how to draft through Computer Aided Drafting.
  2. The point of college is to train you for what you'd like to do. If you love something, do it! There were a lot of Architects who needed training, and that's why they're so good today! Good luck!
  3. What you really like ,take it ...Both have scope ..but now days, I think interior designers are more preferred than architecture.....
  4. If you are an Architect, you can always do I.D. Frank Lloyd Wright did all the I.D. for all of his buildings. As an I.D. you would be legally prevented from providing architectural services. Architecture is a "Profession". Similar to law, medicine, engineering, you are required to have a license to do these things...............this takes some education and self discipline, but if you have the drive and determination, then you should do it. The rewards are great (not necessarily a lot of $, but I am very comfortable) and you can walk down a street 5 years later and look at your handiwork. An interior environment can be changed as fashion trends changes, new paint, floor, wall covering.......very fleeting. Do some research, visit some university programs, talk to the students (very important) and then make an informed decision. Good luck and have fun!
  5. Well your choices are not that hard since your not that good and its even better to get a little knowledge in Interior Design and then once you have that it might be a little easier for the architecture. If your a creative inventive person you will do fine. Other thing might help is if you could get a job in a lumber yard. I gain much knowledge working at one. Found out I really was decent at math.
