Are circular homes safer then the average home?
I'm not really into architecture but the more I think about circular homes, the more I like the idea. I just assume that it would be safer since it's more aerodynamic, so wind damage wouldn't be that big of a problem. It would also be safer if your building underground because I'd think the pressure would just keep it together instead of imploding even during an earthquake. Is there really something to the Cottage shape? Any other benefits?

- no because there are no corners to hide in
- I don't know about circulary homes but I know that monolithic dome houses are supposed to be VERY safe
- There is a slight advantage to a circular home in high winds, because there is not a flat wall so the wind does not have the same effect. Your idea about an underground home might have some validity, which is why wells are circular to keep the pressure from pushing on a direct surface, similar to the strength of an arch.
