Trying to choose bw software engineering or architecture?

what are good and bad things about these major? i heard some of my friends graduated from university without job in architecture is that true? or the demand is hiegh/low in hiring them? what about engineering ? also do software engineers always have a higher channce to get a job after graduation?plz help thank u :)

  1. Engineers, specially software engineers are always in demand. The reason is because companies are always in need of programs capable of optimizing their processes to save money. The average salary is also much higher than architecture (some architects can make hundreds of thousands, but we are talking about a very small number). Now, don't choose a major just because of the salary, specially if you are trying to decide between architecture (more into the human and artistic side of a building) and software engineering (math and programming). If you want to be an engineer (either because of the salary or the challenge) and still play major role in the design of a building, you could go for civil or/and structural engineering. I would advise doing a little more research on those two majors and see what type of jobs you could find. You can also go to monster.com and look for the jobs that most companies are posting on those two majors if you want to know more details
