What type of architecture/style is this building? (pic inside)?

I'm doing research on architecture (art class), and I was wondering what kind of architecture this is. it's beautiful. http://www.mycbaa.com/AM/Images/Bankhighlights/FirstState_NewBranch.gif So if you could describe it to me, the more details, the better! Thanks in advance!

  1. Hi, Well that seems to be characteristic of southern style from about XVIII - XIX. But I don't know the name(s) of that style. I'm portuguese, so I know little about those buildings :-) Good luck with your project. Kind regards, José
  2. it definitely has the influence of roman and greek architecture. the rounded arches come from the romans and the columns are both of greek and roman times. as for the time period that this particular building was built, i couldn't say. however, the style parallels one of the most famous buildings that most notable buildings are mirrored from regarding design: the pantheon (rome). although, the pantheon has a dome and this picture doesn't show one, the columns and round arches clearly suggest roman architectural influence. it is almost similar in style to a couple of thomas jefferson's buildings (which again, has the same influence as mentioned above) too.
