adobe illustrator tutorials for rendering architecture?
Just wondered where there was a site which I could learn to realistically render architecture and architectural spaces ( interiors and such) I am an architecture major and am working on my portfolio but Have not yet taken the computer classes. Any good tutorials?

- I believe you'd be more along the lines of AutoCAD software when it comes to architecture and drafting, but I'm not too sure. Just google AutoCAD tutorials or Illustrator tutorials....and if you have itunes, there's a podcast called Gradient Mesh that has some good beginner and intermediate Illustrator tutorials... But, to get to started AutoCAD: http://www.cadtutor.net/ and Illustrator: http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorials/Illustrator/1 Good luck, and have fun with them!
- Try AutoCAD tutorials. Illustrator CS......... is CAD ready, and there are many step by step tutorials on the CAD sites using Illustrator
- it may be wise to eventually use design software for buildings and structures as you mention, for illustrator tutorials may be more 2d layout designs, yet technical usable, not much found, http://www.khulsey.com/demo_1howto.html http://www.liv.ac.uk/abe/students/illustrator/07_integration.shtml http://blog.miragestudio7.com/2006/03/cutaway-technical-illustrations-using-adobe-illustrator/ http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/02/05/illustrator-tutorials-best-of/ http://www.wacom-asia.com/casestudy/technical_illustrator.html ___________________ other graphic tools, CorelDRAW and Designer http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1150981051301 http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1152105071141 ACDSee - Canvas http://store.acdsee.com/store/acd/ContentTheme/pbPage.en_forWork Inkscape illustrator http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/ DrawPlus http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/DrawPlus/default.asp SketchUp - 2d and 3d http://sketchup.google.com/ DesignWorkshop Lite http://www.artifice.com/ _____________________ AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=3761844&siteID=123112 Wacom Intuos3 http://www.wacom.com/intuos/ http://www.mpdclick.com/mudpie/action/viewSupport http://nodebox.net/code/index.php/Home ..
- I am an architecture student as well. I use Autodesk Revit and sketchup. Its better to use a 3d program cause elements of your design can be quickly edited. If you use a 2d program it will set you back a long way and you will also have to think about camera angles, etc. For something quick to learn try sketchup, then use a vray plug-in for sketchup that can render photo-realistic. Revit can render well, but not as good as v-ray. Hope this helps. I was in the same situation.
